SOLD Pair 1930s French Art Deco Sconces

SOLD
An unusual pair of French Art Deco Sconces circa 1930s. The sconces are of high quality and well executed. The porto is of marble and onyx, the 2 bronze stems project from a bronze sphere (earth) and hold the shades — 1 pink, 1 yellow — which are frosted glass with a beautiful bubbly starry pattern (sky), and the bulbs are covered with adorable dome-shaped metal caps, one is black with a moon pattern, the other is copper flashed with a sun pattern.

A beautiful, striking pair of sconces! One can choose to restore the paint on the stem of the sconce missing it, or removing the paint on the one that has it. I leave this decision to the new owner.

Condition: in good antique condition: we found that one of the marble/onyx portos has a minor chip on its bottom corner and that one of the glass shades has a small crack, but the shade is strong, the crack is barely noticeable when the sconce is on a wall. The sconces need rewiring.

Approximate Dimensions: 17″ overall projection from the wall, 8″ overall height, 12″ overall width.
