Here is a wonderful and rare circa 1900 German Jugendstil Secessionist Arts and Crafts little brass and copper planter/cup made by Carl Deffner of Esslingen, Germany.  A great addition to your collection!

Carl Deffner, Esslingen, Germany, made decorative copper, brass and plated tableware.  He was born in 1856 and took over management of his father’s metalware factory in 1900.  Responsible for many excellent designs during the art nouveau and art deco periods.  The factory closed in  1959.

Dimensions:  approximately 4.25″ high x 3.75″ diameter.

Condition:  Very good condition, untouched and unpolished, with a beautiful patina,  it is as we found it.  The two last pictures show the Deffner mark on the foot of the planter, which is a bit hard to decipher, but undoubtedly there, and a clear Deffner mark to compare it with.
