18th Century Latch Bolt with Bronze Dolphin Handle SOLD

Here is a wonderful 18th Century French Style “Espagnolette” wrought iron rod with a bronze handle in the form of a dolphin. This can be used to shut a window, door, or shutter. The length can easily be adjusted. With two ornate top and bottom plates that guide the rod into position, and a middle plate to hold the rotating handle. The handle rotates to move the rod away from (shut) or towards (open) the center.

Condition: In great condition, with a wonderful patina.

Dimensions: 68″ long; the three plates (top, middle and bottom) measure approximately 9″ high x 3 1/4″ wide.
