A word about the pattern:
Mille-fleurs (French), also in English millefleur or mille-fleur literally means “thousand flowers” and refers to a background made of many small flowers and plants. It was an especially popular motif in tapestry and other applied arts and crafts during the Middle Ages (15th and early 16th Century) in Europe.
The last picture is the Flemish Tapestry “The Triumph of Death, or the Three Fates” with a typical mille-fleurs background, c. 1510-20.
This fabric retailed for $348.00 per yard. It is offered here for a very low $87.00 per yard.
