This circa 1900 German Arts & Crafts / Art Nouveau medicine cabinet has intricate wrought iron ornamental “braces” on each corner of its door; the panel of the door has floral decorations (picture 2); the top has turned finials. The case is oak, and the central etched panel is pine (thus the difference of patina on the inside of the door ) It stands on bun feet, and can be used sitting on a table or hanging on the wall, as it also has metal hooks on its back. There are two shelves inside it. The numbers 4522 and 100, and the date 1900 are penciled on the top left corner of the interior of the pine panel. The artist’s monogram is found on the front panel amidst the floral decorations.
Condition: The lock and key are in working order but they are a later replacement. There is a repair on the iron on the lower left hand corner, and one small piece of iron is missing on the lower right corner of the door (picture 4.) There is trace of a cornice, now missing, on top of the cabinet (see picture 6.) Overall, the cabinet is in nice condition, with a deep and warm patina.
